A Voice of Colorado No. 201 Version 5.0:

One of the early settlers of Loveland, CO. was David Hershman, born in Wayne County, OH., on September 24, 1839. He and his brother, John, arrived to the Big Thompson Valley area in 1865. David Hershman is known for organizing the United Brethren of Christ congregation in 1872, and conducting the first sermon in the Loveland area at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William B. Washburn, whose home was located southeast of present-day Loveland.
