For voters in Larimer County, CO. the November 2017 election may involve asking taxpayers to extend the sales tax for the county fairgrounds to pay for expansions of the facilities and help with operating costs at The Ranch. If voters approved the extension it would continue for twenty years.

A sales tax of fifteen cents for every $100 spent was approved in 1999 to build the existing fairgrounds complex, which included the Budweiser Events Center, the McKee Community Building, the First National Bank Exhibition Hall, and the indoor and outdoor arenas, and to help fund facilities operations. The original tax is scheduled to expire in 2019, at which time debt for the construction of the facilities will be paid off. If the proposal were voted down in 2017 it could again be put to voters in 2019.
